About the role:

Network Rail Consulting is currently hiring for a Lead Project Integration Tester to join the Digital Systems Program (DSP) with our client, Transport for New South Wales (TfNSW). Since 2018, we have been a key partner to TfNSW’s Digital Systems Program, bringing together technical and operational functions to deliver a European Train Control System (ETCS) L2 railway for TfNSW's heavy rail network.

The Lead Project Integration Tester will undertake all lab and on-site integration testing, with a focus on (but not limited to) Traffic Management Systems (TMS) Integration activities. This role will play a key part within the Digital Systems Program, ensuring all the integration testing is carried out in line with local and international standards and that all the assurance evidence is provided in a clear and timely manner.

The successful applicant will have demonstrated leadership skills, and the confidence to apply their technical expertise in a consultancy environment.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Lead and undertake the System Integration Testing phases.
  • Ensure all testing is carried out in line with standards and best practice.
  • Ensure there are no possession overruns as a result of system integration testing activities.
  • Ensure all testing paperwork is collated and supplied to the V&V engineers and SESA team in line with program timescales.
  • Plan and roster the Integration Testers shifts.
  • Manage workload in line with local fatigue regulations.
  • Maintain any competencies to undertake system integration testing on the network.
  • Lead on site TMS testing activities at the ROC/ITL and Train facilities.
  • Develop/amend and execute Test Cases in operational and simulated environments.
  • Undertake detailed/formal technical analysis of testing activities to support system sign off and entry into service.

Experience & Qualifications:

Essential

  • Demonstrated experience in delivering integration testing in the rail industry.
  • Strong background in Signalling projects, preferably ETCS Level 2, ATO and Traffic Management systems or equivalent systems.
  • Experience/detailed knowledge of Railway Signalling/Operational Principles.
  • Experience/detailed knowledge of Traffic Management Systems.

Desirable

  • Experience/Understanding of existing Sydney Trains systems (i.e., TRIMs RTTA, FARS etc)
  • Experience of testing cab-based signalling systems (i.e., ETCS and CBTC)
  • Knowledge of one or more of the ETCS L2 (trackside, onboard) & supporting sub-systems (FTN, DTRS, ATO, TMS)
  • Experience during the development and entry into service phase of new technology into rail.
  • Knowledge/experience of working in the Australian rail industry.
