About the opportunity:

Building on our continued success and growth, NRC Australia is currently establishing a team of experienced professionals for a suite of major rail infrastructure projects across Queensland. 

We’re currently recruiting for a Signalling Asset Manager with demonstrated experience in ETCS Trackside Sub-Systems to join our growing team as an Associate Director – Asset Management & Maintenance based in Brisbane. In this role, you will provide practical, experience-based leadership support for the trialling and roll-out of new digital systems and/or modified methods of working.

To succeed in this role, you will have significant experience providing engineering governance of signalling assets, guiding the process for hand-over and acceptance and hand-back of assets being renewed, installed or modified.

What you will be involved in:

  • Lead and direct a team of experts to achieve business and functional objectives and meet key performance measures.
  • Manage development of individuals and the engagement of the team.
  • Develop and agree annual maintenance, inspection and testing programmes and resource levels.
  • Advise and propose asset renewal strategies.
  • Advise and guide processes for restoring to normal operation after completion of testing/investigation, equipment that has failed, been subject to an allegation or has been renewed.
  • Implement safety, asset performance, reliability, productivity and efficiency improvement initiatives.
  • Establish and maintain appropriate safety arrangements
  • Control and check the quality of work undertaken and confirm assets are compliant to standards.

Experience & Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Degree or equivalent in a relevant subject area or extensive demonstratable experience.
  • Extensive rail industry experience in an Asset Management & Maintenance capacity.
  • Significant experience and understanding of railway signalling infrastructure assets including prior experience with ETCS Trackside Sub-Systems.
  • Proven track record in implementing change and operational performance improvement initiatives.
  • Proven ability to translate client needs into working solutions.
  • Well-developed skills in problem solving and written/verbal communication, collaborative working and time/priority management.
  • Proven experience in developing and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external staff.
  • Proven ability to translate client needs into working solutions.
  • Build sustainable relationships with customers, identifying and developing opportunities and managing these through to new work.
  • Strong IT proficiency – including MS Office applications and developed report writing skills.
  • Experience using Enterprise Asset Management Systems (such as Ellipse, Maximo, SAP) preferably within the rail sector.

Desirable:

  • Membership of relevant professional body.
  • Formal Asset Management Qualification.
  • Understanding of Australian market and client relationships in Transport/Rail sector.
