About the opportunity:

Building on our continued success and growth, we are currently hiring for an experienced professional to join our team as an Associate Director – Project & Program Management (P&PM) based in Brisbane.

This is a key role which will lead the overall project management for rail projects, ensuring the QLD team work in a coordinated way to achieve successful project outcomes and high level of customers satisfaction. As a subject matter expert, you will collaborate with the NRC leadership team to drive and provide project management expertise for the development of future projects and deliver outcomes consistent with the overall NRC project management methodology.

What you will be involved in:

  • Co-ordinates the QLD project team and works to provide strategic leadership and guidance as part of the QLD leadership team.
  • Lead the project management for the overarching P&PM function and ensures this is consistent with the requirements of the different projects.
  • Works with the Project Director to deliver timely and accurate reporting of project health to the customer.
  • Works with Project Director to ensure updates to the Project Management and Quality Plan are completed in line with the current program strategy.
  • Ensures strategic decisions from the customer are translated into the relevant project delivery strategy.
  • Ensure our approach to project management is always ‘best for customer”.

Experience & Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Significant project management experience with a demonstrated track record of delivering small to medium sized rail projects.
  • Demonstrated experience managing risks across projects and programs including knowledge of risk management concepts and tools.
  • Sound understanding of major rail infrastructure projects.
  • Knowledge of the project lifecycle and project management concepts.
  • Understanding of the program principles and objectives.
  • Proficient in building positive relationships with senior stakeholders and technical subject matter experts.

Desirable:

  • Prior experience in the delivery of change and compliance projects.
  • Proficiency in a project schedule management tool – such as Primavera P6 or MS Project.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher (in a relevant field).
