About the opportunity:                   

Building on our continued success and growth, NRC Australia is currently seeking Expressions of Interests for experienced Systems Integrators and Systems Engineers to support upcoming to projects deliver digital signalling, traffic management and infrastructure technology.

You will have the opportunity to work across a diverse project-based business, supporting the Systems Integration, Requirements Management, Systems Engineering V-lifecycle management for major infrastructure system upgrades.

Essential requirements:

  • Experience in practicing Systems Integration and/or Systems Engineering activities;
  • Experience using a Systems Engineering approach to develop system architectures and requirements that meet the needs of the client;
  • Broad technical understanding of rail systems and an ability to converse with technical SMEs on technical issues/topics related to your area of expertise;
  • Able to work with the Safety Assurance Lead to follow the safety assurance framework;
  • Experienced in managing the integration of Control, Command and Signalling sub-systems, and support the progressive assurance of development activities;
  • Able to engage with a wide range of stakeholders to discuss and resolve technical issues and present to senior leadership;
  • Knowledge of risk identification and management, working to eliminate or reduce all safety risk to as low as reasonably practicable;
  • Ensure all deliverables are produced according to the Systems Engineering Management Plan and Systems Assurance frameworks; and
  • Demonstrated experience producing technical documents that are free from error and well formatted.

Experience & Qualifications:

Essential

  • Relevant degree qualified professional or equivalent demonstrable experience;
  • Strong background in digital signalling programs, in particular ETCS Level 2, ATO, CBTC, EULYNX, Telecomms (GSM-R and FRMCS) and Traffic Management Systems;
  • Experience of delivering rail project work packages to successful completion on time and within budget;
  • Chartered Engineer or Incorporated Engineer working towards Chartered status;
  • Ability to listen and communicate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders and accurately capture, interpret, and implement agreed changes as required;
  • Good communication skills to interface with clients and internal stakeholders; and
  • Ability to promptly investigate safety related/technical issues and recommend the implementation of corrective actions.

Desirable:

  • Experience in writing requirements specifications using requirement management tools, for example, DOORS Next Generation or GENESYS will be highly regarded.
