About the role

As we continue to grow in Melbourne, we are seeking two experienced rail professionals to join our team as Management Consultants within our Asset Management and Maintenance division. Our comprehensive approach to the asset management lifecycle allows us to deliver top-tier decision-making support, enhancing the reliability and performance of our clients' rail infrastructure.

As a Managing Consultant in our team, you will collaborate with our clients on various initiatives, including:

  • Developing asset management and maintenance strategies
  • Conducting asset management and maintenance reviews and assessments
  • Advancing enterprise asset management and maintenance practices
  • Reviewing and developing standards and training materials
  • Applying intelligent asset management systems, technologies, and solutions
  • Providing infrastructure reliability assessments and advice
  • Performing asset audits, due diligence assessments, and assurance reviews

Day to day, your accountabilities will involve:

1. Providing project and technical services on rail consulting engagements, ensuring deliverables meet client expectations.

2. Proactively finding solutions to deliver the clients' desired outcomes.

3. Acting as an interface in the delivery of services and resolution of project issues.

4. Collaborating with clients to identify their needs and requirements.

5. Undertaking operational and maintenance needs analysis and development with knowledge of transport Life Cycle Cost (LCC) modelling.

6. Supporting operational and maintenance needs analysis and development with knowledge of transport assets and best practices.

7. Supporting the development and analysis of system requirements.

8. Providing technical support for engineering activities across the Asset and Life Cycle Cost.

9. Providing technical support to the Bid and / or Project Manager for the successful delivery of bids, projects and tasks.

10. Supporting verification and validation as well as test and evaluation activities and programmes.

11. Supporting project delivery to ensure technical requirements are understood and met.

12. Supporting quality deliverables and timely delivery of projects and reports.

13. Delivering business outcomes collaboratively with colleagues, Network Rail and our strategic partners.

14. Working with our leadership team to support a collaborative, professional, and positive team culture.

About you

- You must be an Australian resident to be considered for this role.

- A degree in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent work experience.

- Proven experience in implementing maintenance processes across a program lifecycle.

- Demonstrated ability to write comprehensive maintenance reports.

- Proficiency in compiling and collating evidence and stage gate materials.

- Strong report writing skills.

- Keen attention to detail when engaging with stakeholders and capturing their insights, actions, and progress summaries.

- Ability to adhere to standards and procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant administrative, financial, and corporate governance requirements.

- Competence in following internal reporting standards and conventions to support clients' financial, risk, safety, and audit objectives.

- Strong IT proficiency, including expertise in MS Office applications.

- Ability to prioritize tasks and deliver results under tight deadlines and pressure.

Work pattern

We expect you to work in our Melbourne office for 2-3 days a week. However, this may vary based on business needs, and there may be occasions when we need you in the office more than this to support the delivery of client assignments.
