Network Rail Consulting (NRC) is the international consultancy arm of Network Rail – the owner and operator of Britain’s mainline rail system. We have been active in the North American, Australian and the Middle East markets since 2013 and have successfully delivered more than 150 consultancy contracts for government, public and privately owned organizations.

Through our consulting services in the United States (US), we are assisting both public agencies and private clients in the transportation sector to accelerate transformation efforts, make step-changes in major program delivery, and achieve leaps forward in areas such as asset management & maintenance, major projects, railway operations, strategic planning and advisory.

Building on our continued success, we are currently building our talent pool for Graduate intake in January 2026, and we are offering an exciting opportunity for Engineering Graduate’s to join our growing established and successful team on the East Coast in either New York, Washington DC/Boston.

We are seeking Graduate’s looking for a career within the following multidisciplinary areas:

  • Overhead Catenary Systems (OCS)
  • Track Engineering
  • Systems Engineering & Systems Integration

Our Graduate Program:

The NRC Graduate Development Programme (GDP)  has been developed to shape our graduates over the course of their first 3 years, into well balanced and learned professionals that are highly sought after by their colleagues and clients.​

The GDP and the follow-on  3-year Emerging Professionals Program (EPP) both consist of learning and recognition dimensions that align with the 70-20-10 rule, where effective learning comes from:​

  • 70% of knowledge from job-related experiences.​
  • 20% from interactions with others; and​
  • 10% coursework and training

You will work with a diverse pool of talented individuals as well as gain exposure across a diverse project-based business. The training you receive will draw on a range of personal development activities, exposure to business leaders and access to programs designed to grow your professional skills, so you become technically advanced and business savvy.

About You

Applicants should:

  • Have recently acquired a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree from an accredited institution in Civil/Mechanical/Electrical engineering.
  • Have excellent analytical, written, and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrate strong organizational skills
  • Work well within a team, take direction from other senior staff members, be able to multi-task on a variety of work assignments, and meet deadlines.
