The Opportunity with NRC

We are looking for a Management Analyst to join our team in Washington DC. The successful candidate will provide support to our clients with the development of complex, transformational railroad projects.

Acting as a key member of the team, you will provide strategic, analytical support to our Associate Director, Operations and Rail Analysis to develop and implement new department work processes and facilitate change management process.

Key Accountabilities

  • Building tools and processes to enable data-driven decision making to achieve core missions of Safety, Reliability and Fiscal Responsibility.
  • Analyze opportunities to create efficiencies & cost savings through Wayside Planning and Maintenance Improvement work processes improvements to improve  resource allocation, risk mitigation and creation of efficiencies between Capitol & Maintenance organizations.
  • Analyze data available to create management reports for effective planning & decision making.
  • Develop requirements for business process improvements and digital modernization solutions.

Job Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • 10+ years of experience in business analysis, management consulting, or similar roles.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities to interpret data and IT solutions to drive actionable recommendations.
  • Knowledge of the US Transit and Rail Industry.
  • Knowledge of project management, data analysis, and clear presentation of information.
  • Familiarity with data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Tableau) and project management software.
  • Ability to work across a multidisciplinary team and communicate effectively with suppliers, contractors, stakeholder’s client representatives, as required) and establish relationships at all levels.
