About the opportunity:

Building on our continued success and growth, NRC Australia is currently establishing a team of experienced professionals for a suite of major rail infrastructure projects across Queensland. 

We’re currently recruiting for a Managing Consultant – Rail Operations Training SME to join our growing team based in Brisbane. In this role, you will work across a diverse project-based business, assisting in the delivery of ETCS Operations and Maintenance training packages for our client. 

To succeed in this role, you will have excellent stakeholder management skills, as well as a good understanding of railway operations and the ability to think strategically to define, develop, and deliver learning and training packages for new railway digital systems upgrades.

What you will be involved in:

  • Provide project/technical services (and work alongside other Operations and Maintenance professionals) on rail operations engagements/projects including accountability for relevant aspects of project deliverables and meeting client expectations.
  • Development and delivery of training packages to client requirements.
  • Collaborate with clients to identify their needs and requirements.
  • Proactively finding solutions to deliver the clients desired outcomes.
  • Acting as an interface in the delivery of services and resolution of project issues.
  • Collaborating with other project team members in a proactive and engaging way, ensuring that members adhere to the client’s values, systems, and requirements.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with our UK based Operations, Assets and training specialists and those from other Regions and States.

Experience & Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Demonstrated rail operations experience and understanding of delivery within a rail safety environment.
  • Developing and delivering learning and training packages to clients within the rail environment.
  • Stakeholder Management – interfacing with clients and finding acceptable and agreeable solutions.
  • Good record keeping and document control – documenting changes, assumptions, issues and using version control methods.
  • Developed report writing and project management skills.
  • Proficient in building positive relationships across a range of client stakeholders – including the ability to engage busy senior stakeholders and work with SME's on technical detail.
  • Strong IT proficiency – including MS Office applications and working with a learning management system.
  • Understanding of working to delivery budgets.

Desirable:

  • Prior experience delivering training for new railway digital systems upgrades e.g.
  • Formal training accreditations.
  • Project management experience.
