Principal Programme Manager [ Asset Management ]

Provide strategic technical direction and leadership for engineering activities within the programme of major infrastructure works with the objective of making sure that all activities are carried out in a safe, high-quality manner, consistent with client requirements, business standards and relevant legislation.

 Key Accountabilities

1. Lead all asset management activity within the programme with the objective of making sure that business objectives are achieved, all relevant policies and standards are adhered to, and completed work is reviewed and approved to an appropriate level.

2. Provide professional asset management and engineering leadership, guidance and support to all functions throughout the project, in particular programme / project managers and engineers, to improve decision making, design, and execution.

3. Lead the development of asset management strategies and standards.

4. Lead the review and assurance activities for all contracts with an asset management and engineering content to make sure they comply with all relevant policies, standards and programme engineering requirements.

5. Lead all asset management and engineering design making sure that business needs are met, all relevant policies and standards are understood and applied, and appropriate value engineering decisions made.

6.  Collaborate with all engineering staff to liaise and work alongside other programme engineers with the objective of making sure that completed designs and works will operate as an integrated railway system.

7.  Lead all programme relations with stakeholders on matters relating to asset management and engineering matters such that the reputation of the programme is maintained and enhanced.

Job Skills, Experience and Qualifications

• Chartered Engineer with relevant experience.

• Detailed knowledge of industry standards relating to engineering.

• Thorough knowledge of railway infrastructure design, construction, operation and maintenance.

• Experience of engineering management.

• Awareness of financial and commercial systems.

• IRSE Licence Holder at Lead Engineer or Senior Engineer level.

• An understanding of risk assessment techniques
