The opportunity with NRC

Building on our continued success, we are looking for an experienced professional to join our team as a Quality Manager based in Seattle, we offer flexibility and hybrid working.

We have already delivered several key advisory and infrastructure projects across the US and have consistently demonstrated exceptional value to our clients through deep integration with their teams, showing ourselves to be a true partner and peer.

NRC is bidding for a place on a $1Bn framework contract to provide project management services to support the Sound Transit 3 (ST3) programme of transit improvements for the Puget Sound area, including the cities of Seattle, Everett, Bellvue and Tacoma. This ambitious $60Bn programme comprises 4 light rail extension schemes and an extension to the Sounder commuter rail network. When complete, the programme will double the number of riders using public transit in the Puget Sound area.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a proven track record of successfully managing and performing quality activities for Rail/Construction projects.

To be considered for this role, you will need to:

  • Understand the Rail/Transit sector and complex programmes of work.
  • Prepares, implements and maintains a quality plan that follows the FTA and client’s requirements.
  • Maintains relationships with client, subconsultants and stakeholders to support project partnering and issue resolution.
  • Coordinate initial project quality training and partnering efforts for the project team.
  • Review and provide recommendations on the quality plan, testing and inspection plan and quality audit reports for acceptance by the client.
  • Attend quality review meetings with the client and other stakeholders.
  • Undertake all activities in a safe environment and in accordance with NRC operating procedures.

Job Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • Educated to degree level within a relevant discipline
  • 10+ years of experience working in a QA/QC capacity, preferably within rail transit infrastructure projects.
  • Familiarity with the FTA’s Quality Management System Guidelines and the FTA’s 15 essential elements of a good quality program, is desirable not essential
  • Knowledge of ISO 9000 series quality management principles.
  • Experience performing quality audits both in the office and out in the field, as well as managing non-conformance and corrective action activities, preferably for large public transportation system projects.
  • Proven experience in the successful management, planning and delivery of major projects
  • Ability to work across a multidisciplinary team and establish relationships at all levels
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
