About the opportunity:                      

Building on our continued success and growth, NRC Australia is seeking expressions of interest from experienced Rail Systems Assurance Advisors to join our team, supporting a suite of major rail infrastructure projects in Queensland.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work across a diverse, project-based environment, contributing to Systems Integration, Requirements Management, Systems Engineering V-lifecycle activities, and the development of robust Systems Assurance frameworks for major infrastructure system upgrades across the region.

Essential requirements:

  • Experience in applying Systems Engineering, Systems Assurance and Systems Integration principles across complex infrastructure projects.
  • Broad technical understanding of rail systems, with the ability to engage confidently with technical SMEs on systems and integration topics.
  • Experience working with Systems Engineering and Systems Assurance Leads to support and implement Systems Assurance frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of risk identification and management within a Systems Assurance context.
  • Ability to ensure deliverables are produced in accordance with Systems Engineering Management Plans and Systems Assurance frameworks.
  • Demonstrated experience producing high-quality, well-structured technical documentation.

Experience & Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Degree qualified engineer (or equivalent demonstratable experience) with proven experience in Systems Assurance.
  • Strong background in railway programs and complex infrastructure environments.
  • Proven experience supporting the successful delivery of rail project assurance activities to completion, on time and within budget.
  • Local knowledge and experience of working in the Australian rail industry.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Well-developed technical report writing skills, with the ability to produce clear, structured and high-quality documentation.
  • Strong communication skills to interface confidently with both clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to investigate system and technical issues and recommend appropriate corrective actions in line with Systems Assurance frameworks.

Desirable:

  • Chartered Engineer (or Incorporated Engineer working towards Chartered status).
