Risk & Compliance Manager

We are now looking for a Risk and Compliance Manager to join our busy Compliance team. This is a rewarding role for a highly organised, proactive individual who is passionate about risk, ethical behaviours, and customer service. The position can be based in either our Bishop’s Stortford or London office with bi-monthly travel to the other office. After a successful probationary period, hybrid working opportunities will be available. Both full-time and part-time candidates will be considered.
This role will involve working alongside our Head of Risk and Compliance to support the firm in meeting its professional and regulatory responsibilities and to protect the reputation of our firm and our people.
The role will include providing clear legal, ethical and regulatory advice and guidance to our people; being proactive in anticipating and then educating our business on emerging risks and compliance/ethical issues; managing our suite of policies and procedures; dealing with feedback from our clients as well as the management of our quality accreditations (Lexcel, Customer Service Excellence, Conveyancing Quality Scheme).
We welcome candidates that will either be working in a risk and compliance role within the legal sector already or will be a solicitor or other legal professional who is looking to move away from a fee earning position and wishes to develop their expertise in the field of risk and compliance.
The ideal candidate will have excellent inter-personal skills and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with clients, staff, and other professionals. You must have strong analytical skills and be IT proficient
