Trustee Board Member
Do you feel like doing something to make a difference in life? Being a Trustee can be interesting and rewarding, giving you the opportunity to exercise existing skills and develop new ones. We are seeking to recruit a new Trustee who can demonstrate commitment to the ethos and vision of our organisation.
Outlook Care is a not for profit organisation, registered with the Care Quality Commission that has been delivering person centred support and care to Adults with Learning Disability since 1990. Every customer we support is an individual; customer service is therefore at the heart of the work that we do.
You will need to be a sound strategic thinker with excellent inter-personal, influencing skills and be able to demonstrate significant senior level experience gained in a medium to large organisation. In particular, we are looking for people with experience in the following areas:
- Supported Living/Supported Housing development
- Property/Business acquisition
We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive Board of Trustees that reflects the communities we serve. We actively encourage applications from individuals who are underrepresented at board level including women, disabled people, trans and non‑binary people, and people from Black, Asian and minority ethnic communities. We are also interested in applicants residing on the communities where we work, specifically, the London Boroughs of Waltham Forest, Havering, Barking and Dagenham. If you’re excited about this role but unsure whether you meet every requirement, we encourage you to apply. Your unique perspective, lived experience, and voice are valued at Outlook Care.
The Role
- Contribute to the overall strategy and direction, through effective participation at Board of Trustee meetings, including quality and financial performance oversight
- Contribute to the planning and management of the organisation
- Support the organisation in meeting challenges and opportunities within the sector
Expectations
Trustees are expected to be available for approximately 10 working days per year. Board Meetings are currently held every quarter on Thursdays and there will be an expectation to attend at least a further committee meeting including additional strategy days. In addition to this commitment, Trustees are expected to meet our customers through visiting services and supporting events. Trustees are offered an effective induction and training programme, a minimum allowance of £2580.18 per year plus reasonable capped expenses.
