Aberdeen WELL (Well Empowered Linked Locally) will provide direct access to a community-based team of Peer Practitioners and volunteers.  The team will work with Partners to provide short-term support and will connect people to appropriate support agencies and community resources. The team will also develop peer networks so that people have access to support within their local areas from people with lived experience.

The role of Peer Practitioner has been developed specifically for people who have lived experience of mental health problems.  Through sharing learning from their own experience, Practitioners will inspire hope and belief that recovery is possible. Overview:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Peer Worker to join our Alcohol Related Brain Damage Supported Accommodation (ARBD) Service in the Possilpark area of Glasgow.

Our ARBD Supported Accommodation Service in Possilpark, Glasgow, has an opening for a Peer Worker to join our team. The Service provides an alcohol-free environment for people accessing support. We aim to assist in all aspects of each person’s recovery. The service is an eight bedded facility with 24-hour support from our team. People come to the service for a 12-week period, or more if required, we offer a safe and alcohol-free environment while we support individuals to regain daily living skills, manage alcohol dependence and provide opportunities to engage in the larger community. We work closely with the local authority’s ARBD team, who carry out various assessments the people accessing the service may require. There are opportunities for group activities and ongoing one to one support from the Penumbra team.

Overview:

DBI is a two-tiered response; a Level 1 response from frontline partnership agencies and Level 2 supportive interventions delivered by Penumbra. A Recovery Practitioner will respond to a referral made on behalf of a person experiencing distress within 24 hours, with the provision of time limited support. The Practitioner will then deliver community-based problem solving support, wellness and distress management planning, supported connections and signposting for a period of up to 14 days.

This service is based in Newtongrange, Midlothian. It is a community based mental health rehabilitation service for eight people with complex mental health needs. We offer 24 hour tailored person centred support, supported living and community rehabilitation. The time, length and areas of activity covered are different for everyone, but structured support can include help with budgeting, life skills, confidence building and social inclusion for approximately 12 months.

Aberdeen WELL (Well Empowered Linked Locally) will provide direct access to a community-based team of Peer Practitioners and volunteers. The team will work with partners to provide short-term support and will connect people to appropriate support agencies and community resources.   The team will also develop peer networks so that people have access to support within their local areas from people with lived experience.

The Service Manager will also support our Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners who work within the NHS Grampian Psychological Therapy Service. PWPs deliver 1:1 support and workshop programmes that are focused on improving wellbeing.
