Central Bank Support Worker (Percy Hedley School)

Who Are We?

The Percy Hedley Foundation is one of the largest regional charities supporting people with a range of learning and physical needs. We take a person centred, flexible approach to the care and support we provide. We have five sites providing specialist education, adult day services, residential care and independent supported living to our service users. Our sites are based in Forest Hall, Killingworth, Jesmond, Newcastle City Centre and North Shields.

We work towards excellence every day and our team members are committed to delivering the very best outcomes for the people we support. Our dynamic and flexible service is tailored to the specific needs of the individual, making it easier to live, learn and be part of a world adapting to change.

The Role

Percy Hedley School is a school that sets out to make a difference to the learning, wellbeing and future life chances of children with additional needs. Teachers, therapists and special/learning support assistants work together in trans-disciplinary teams to meet the individual needs of every pupil. Together, we believe we can unlock each child’s potential and support achievement for all.

We are looking for people who are passionate about providing excellent care and support to children within an education environment. You will support pupils with the engagement pathway by facilitating sensory rich learning experiences, responding to individual communication and engagement cues, and supporting both 1:1 and group activities at a pace suited to each pupils developmental needs.

You will join our wider team of central bank support workers where opportunities will also be available to work into our other services.

Previous experience working within a similar setting would be desirable but not essential, as you will be fully supported and provided with all the training that you need.

A flexible working approach is essential as bank positions are required to provide cover as and when needed.

Percy Hedley School operates term time, between the hours of 8.30am - 4pm, Monday - Fridays. You will be able to pick up shifts when you are available and according to the needs of the service.
