We take a person centred, flexible approach to the care and support we provide. The Percy Hedley Foundation has three main sites providing specialist education, adult day services and residential care to our service users. Our sites are based in Forest Hall, Killingworth, and Jesmond.

We work towards excellence every day and our team members are committed to delivering the very best outcomes for the people we support. Our dynamic and flexible service is tailored to the specific needs of the individual, making it easier to live, learn and be part of a world adapting to change.

The Role

The Percy Hedley Foundation is looking to appoint a Business Systems Manager as it embarks on a new technology journey that aims to maximise both the effectiveness of the IT systems it relies upon to function and the value it can generate by the intelligent use of its business data to guide good decision making.

Working as part of a small team of IT professionals and reporting to the Head of Technology, you will be responsible for planning the development and operation of business applications, liaising closely with stakeholders at all levels across the Foundation’s services to understand requirements, guide process and system improvement, and oversee organisational change through project delivery.

While this role requires a technical background and a good understanding of SAAS delivery models, integration and modern business intelligence, the keys to success will lay in being organised, a good communicator and the ability to not lose sight of the big picture.

Our ideal candidate is a good team player and will:

  • Have excellent stakeholder management credentials - be able to connect to, communicate with and influence colleagues at all levels.
  • Have a sound understanding of the use of modern business IT applications, cloud service provision models, integration, and business intelligence – you won’t be building these, but you will have to collaborate with the people who do.
  • Be able to quickly gather and analyse information about business processes and needs, understanding the potential impact of technology in the Foundation, and build a good awareness of how our different operational services work that will allow you to spot improvement opportunities.

Your contribution will enable the Foundation’s work delivering education, care, therapy, and support that makes such a difference to the lives of disabled children, young people and adults.

This is an exciting time to join our IT Team as it begins the next phase of its development as part of a new Technology Strategy, supporting a programme of transformation across the Foundation which is introducing of new technologies, services and ways of working.

In return, the Foundation can offer you a rewarding role with an ongoing commitment to professional development, including both training and the opportunity to get involved with major IT projects, with clear routes for progression, in an organisation that has a profound positive impact on so many people’s lives.

Informal enquiries can be addressed to Gareth Edwards, Head of Technology (g.edwards@percyhedley.org.uk).
