The Role
We are continuing to grow our therapy team and have a unique opportunity for a Phase 2 ( equivalent to band 6) Occupational Therapist to deliver a high-quality specialist service to our service users at Hedley’s college.
This post requires ideally a knowledge of working with service users with autism, Learning disabilities, behaviours that challenge and sensory processing difficulties. The key objectives of the successful candidate include providing assessment and intervention for a caseload of people, predominantly with autism and with complex speech language and communication needs. Experience in sensory processing and understanding the impact of this on service users’ self-regulation would be hugely beneficial although is not essential.
Training opportunities to develop and increase skills and knowledge in this highly specialist area will be available alongside a robust induction period. We are looking for someone who is keen to learn, has a strong occupational focus and is motivated to make a difference. We need someone with a dedicated person-centred approach in order to promote improved health and wellbeing, choice and ultimately optimum occupational performance.
The post holder will work alongside existing therapy colleagues to continue to develop this service in line with strategic ambitions and aspirations and to promote the most optimum lifelong learning experience for service users and their families.
