Hedley’s College is a specialist further education and training provider for young people aged 16 to 25. We offer tailored programmes for learners with moderate to complex needs, including physical and learning disabilities, autism, and those requiring individualised approaches to communication, independence, and employability.

The Role

We are currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Tutor to join our experienced team at Hedley’s College Hub, West Lane Campus. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people with a diverse range of complex needs. We seek an individual who has experience of Planning, preparing, managing and delivering high quality learning to a group of young people aged 16-25 with a range of complex learning and physical disabilities. We are ideally looking for a candidate with experience of profound autism.

The successful candidate will:

  • Plan, prepare and deliver high-quality, personalised learning programmes to prepare learners for adulthood.
  • Have experience of working with learners with profound autism.
  • Be confident in implementing Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) strategies to promote engagement, well-being and personal development.
  • Be flexible and highly organised, with the ability to adapt teaching methods to meet a variety of learning styles and needs.
  • Understand the importance of structure, routine and consistency for learners with complex needs.
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to support learners in achieving their educational and life goals.
