What is the role?
We’re looking for a Company Secretarial Assistant trainee based at our head office in York. Reporting to the Deputy Company Secretary, you will help to maintain an efficient and professional Company Secretarial function across the Group. This is a great opportunity for an ambitious person with excellent communication skills, committed to developing a career in the Company Secretarial field and keen to pursue an appropriate professional qualification with The Chartered Governance Institute.
What you’ll do as a Company Secretarial Assistant
- Maintaining statutory records for Group companies using Diligent Entities.
- Assisting with Companies House and other regulatory filings.
- Supporting the administration of the Group's share schemes.
- Assisting with the preparation and delivery of the Annual Report and AGM.
- Supporting the management of KYC and due diligence requests.
- Assisting with the maintenance of governance information on the corporate website.
- Providing administrative support in relation to Board and Committee activities.
- Supporting the preparation and release of regulatory announcements where required.
- Working closely with the Personal Assistant in the assembly of Board and Committee packs using Diligent Boards.
What experience do I need?
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent attention to detail, a proactive mindset and a desire to work in governance.
- Previous experience in a company secretarial, governance or legal environment would be beneficial, but not essential, as training will be provided.
- The ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- A proactive and professional approach.
- The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- A desire to study towards a CGI qualification
- A-levels or a relevant degree.
