What is the role?
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Reception & Office Administrator to join our front of house team in the PLC Headquarters in York on a fixed term contract of 4 months. This role typically reports to the Office Manager.
The purpose of the role is to ensure all paperwork in relation to Persimmon departments and regional offices are sorted and distributed effectively and efficiently.
What you’ll do as a Reception & Office Administrator
- Work Monday to Thursday, 9am - 5pm (30 hours per week) with flexibility to provide reception cover over lunch breaks, holidays and when deemed necessary
- General reception/switchboard duties including ensuring that reception area is presentable and visitors are dealt with quickly and efficiently.
- Providing a first-class telephone service to internal and external stakeholders to resolve queries to a satisfactory conclusion
- Handle a high volume of incoming post, ensuring it is accurately sorted and distributed, and manage all outgoing mail by making sure it is correctly franked and the appropriate postage is applied.
- Responsible for Feedback of incoming emails through Persimmon Internet site, ensuring that queries are dealt with and replied to efficiently and professionally.
- Receipt and co-ordination of deliveries to relevant departments ensuring that they are notified and to facilitate prompt collection.
- Coordinate the booking and allocation of meeting rooms, ensuring required facilities and refreshments are arranged efficiently and on time.
- Provide general administrative support across the office, using initiative to deliver accurate, confidential work to a high standard.
- General assistance as requested by the Office Manager.
What experience do I need?
- Previous experience within an office environment
- A degree of flexibility to provide additional cover as required is essential
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Computer literate with experience of a number of different packages including Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook
- Ability to be well organised, self-motivated with high attention to detail
