Support Worker

We are pleased to announce an exciting opportunity here at Potens for a Support Worker.

Middleton Lodge offers specialist residential support for up to 10 individuals in a spacious, detached bungalow located in Middleton St George, Darlington.

We support adults with a range of needs, including learning difficulties, challenging behaviours, and autism.

  • 40 hours per week. Shift times are 8 am to 8 pm. Weekend and bank holiday working is required. Full flexibility is needed to support the service requirements.

 What you’ll be doing:

  • You will work as part of a team, ensuring a safe and caring, supportive environment is maintained, which meets the individual and group needs of the people that live with us.
  • Supporting personal choice activities both within the service and out in the community. 
  • Supporting with personal activity planners.
  • 1:1 support, which could involve lone working. 
  • The role will involve assisting with personal care, cleaning and domestic support, preparing meals, diet and fluids support, medication support, updating our internal systems, reviewing care plans, risk assessments, and monthly reports.

Who you are:

  • Experience in a similar role is preferred but not essential.
  • The role requires a motivated and creative individual.
  • Flexibility is needed as shift times may change to suit the needs of the service.
  • A team player with a ‘can do’ attitude.
  • Drivers preferred.
