Support Worker

This bespoke service supports three children/young people with learning disabilities, autism, ADHD and related supported needs.

Our service is within walking distance of Weymouth town centre, with great transport links both by bus and train. Set in a large spacious house with a homely feel, helping support our young people to feel safe.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Our young people have a mix of interests and different levels of independence, you will be supporting with daily tasks to increase their confidence levels and everyday skills.
  • You will support the children to have fun and engage in learning.
  • You will be cooking, cleaning and supporting with everyday tasks, depending on the child’s ability.
  • We make the most of being close to the beautiful seaside and local amenities. We enjoy our days out together, shopping, visiting the cinema, taking part in and encouraging the children’s interests.

Who you are:

  • A minimum of 6 months experience in a Support Worker role is required.
  • Experience working within a children’s service is desirable but not essential.
  • The young people we support have said that they would like “someone with a great sense of humour, that will have fun, be understanding, patient and enjoy spending time with us”.
  • You are enthusiastic, compassionate and love working with children.
  • You are motivated, flexible and have a ‘can do’ attitude.
  • Must be a driver with a full manual license due to the needs of the service.
