A fantastic opportunity has arisen within the Finance Directorate at Principality Building Society. We are looking for an enthusiastic and analytical FP&A Analyst to join our Planning & Performance Team.

In this role, you’ll play a key part in supporting the delivery of strategic financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and insightful analysis to inform decision-making, optimise performance, and contribute to sustainable growth.

You’ll work closely with finance professionals and business stakeholders across the Society, using your financial modelling and analytical skills to provide actionable insights and contribute to strategic initiatives.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Contribute to financial forecasting, budgeting and scenario planning processes
  • Assist with month-end accounting, scorecard, and KPI reporting - focusing on performance analysis and insight generation
  • Maintain and continuously improve financial models and analytical tools
  • Support inputs into stress testing and ICAAP-related tasks
  • Help deliver competitor benchmarking and ad hoc analysis to support business decision- making

What we’re looking for:

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Strong Excel skills; comfortable working with large data sets
  • Good understanding of accounting principles and key financial metrics
  • Analytical mindset with a strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Clear and confident communicator, able to explain finance to non-finance audiences
  • Curious and proactive, with a passion for learning and continuous improvement
  • Pragmatic and composed under time pressure, willing to tackle ambiguity and learn through change

Experience:

  • Hands-on experience preparing month-end reporting and management accounts
  • Involvement in budgeting, forecasting and performance analysis
  • Comfortable working with financial data to evaluate business results and trends
  • Financial services experience is advantageous but not essential

Qualifications:

  • Part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
  • Or relevant experience and financial planning knowledge
