Debt Capital Market (DCM ) Senior Manager (12m FTC)

We’re offering a rare and exciting development opportunity for an internal colleague to step into a 12-month secondment as Debt Capital Markets (DCM) Senior Manager within our Balance Sheet Management team.

This is a pivotal moment for our organisation as we prepare for our inaugural covered bond issuance — and you could be right at the heart of it.

The role

In this role, you’ll help shape and deliver our wholesale funding and capital strategy as we continue to mature as an organisation. You’ll work directly with external partners including banks, rating agencies, and investors — gaining invaluable exposure to the world of Debt Capital Markets.

You’ll support the preparation and execution of our funding activities, develop investor materials, and help establish the frameworks and rhythms needed to manage ongoing issuance and investor engagement.

This secondment offers a unique chance to broaden your strategic and technical experience, working closely with senior leaders and contributing to high-profile decisions across the balance sheet.

About You

You’re an experienced finance professional who thrives on challenge and is keen to develop a deeper understanding of Debt Capital Markets. You combine analytical strength with strong judgement and can balance strategic thinking with hands-on delivery.

You’ll bring:

  • Strong numeracy and analytical capability with excellent attention to detail.
  • Confidence in managing relationships with external financial partners.
  • The ability to influence and engage at senior levels.
  • A proactive, outcome-focused approach and a passion for learning and growth.

Experience in Asset & Liability Management (ALM), funding, treasury, or capital management would be helpful, but curiosity and ambition to stretch into new areas are equally important.

Why This Role?

This is more than just a secondment — it’s a career-building opportunity to gain first-hand experience of capital markets activity and strategic funding decisions. You’ll have visibility across the organisation, work closely with senior leaders, and play a meaningful role in shaping the future of our balance sheet management strategy.

Our most important asset is our people. We value a healthy work-life balance and currently offer a 35-hour work week with our hybrid approach enabling you to have a mix of office days and remote working.

Your base location for this role will be our Head Office, Principality House, The Friary, Cardiff, CF10 3FA
