We’re looking for a Commercial Operations Manager to play a key role in supporting safe, effective and customerfocused commercial lending. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys solving complex operational challenges, managing risk, and working collaboratively across teams.

You’ll take ownership of important operational activities within Commercial Lending, including the management of security processes, professional panels, and AML/KYC oversight. You’ll also help ensure our operational frameworks remain robust, compliant and continuously improving.

This role reports to the Head of Operations, Commercial Lending.

What you’ll be doing?

Operations Management:

  • Oversee the accurate and effective taking and releasing of security, ensuring risks are identified, managed and escalated appropriately
  • Provide full oversight and sign-off of AML/KYC activity for the Commercial division
  • Personally manage complex security cases where specialist input is required
  • Manage and build strong relationships with our professional panels (including solicitors, valuers and quantity surveyors), ensuring high standards and positive representation
  • Maintain a strong understanding of Commercial processes and procedures, actively identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce risk

Risk Management:

  • Manage the operational risk and control framework for Commercial Lending
  • Identify and assess emerging operational, legal or regulatory risks that may impact the division’s strategy
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, including legal advisers, to ensure lending documentation is regularly reviewed and remains effective

Business resilience and collaboration:

  • Own and maintain the business continuity plan, ensuring the division is prepared for incidents or disruption
  • Build effective partnerships with internal teams such as IT, Legal, Change and Risk
  • Support the development and training of colleagues to help ensure the division operates effectively at all times

What we’re looking for

Experience & Knowledge:

  • Experience or strong understanding of commercial lending operations
  • Good knowledge of security processes and risk management
  • Understanding of AML/KYC requirements
  • Experience working with, or alongside, external professional firms
  • Exposure to project or change initiatives

Skills & Capabilities:

  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to manage complex information
  • Confident stakeholder management and clear communication skills
  • A proactive, solutionfocused approach to identifying and managing risk
  • Ability to work collaboratively and support continuous improvement
  • Commitment to acting in line with our values and ways of working
