At Principality Building Society, we’re on a mission to protect our members, our colleagues and our organisation from the growing risks of Financial Crime. We’re currently looking for a Financial Crime Analysts on a 18 month fixed term contract to join our dedicated Financial Crime team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to develop and apply your investigative and analytical skills in a purpose-driven organisation where doing the right thing is at the heart of how we work.

What you’ll be doing

As a Financial Crime Analyst, you will:

  • Investigate internal suspicion reports across Principality Building Society, including Commercial.
  • Analyse large volumes of data to assess the detect financial crime risks.
  • Provide expert advice to teams across the Society on financial crime risks, policies and controls.
  • Conduct Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) and Know Your Customer (KYC) checks, including document verification for customer onboarding.
  • Use specialist screening and account monitoring tools to identify suspicious activity.
  • Support complex fraud investigation in line with the Principality Fraud Response Plan.
  • Prepare and submit reports to relevant bodies such as the Natonal Crime Agency (NCA) and Cifas.

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Strong analytical and investigative skills.
  • Solid understanding of financial crime risks.
  • Knowledge of Financial Services products (e.g. savings, mortgages).
  • Discretion in handling sensitive information.
  • Understanding of risk management and a risk-based approach.

Experience:

  • Previous experience in financial crime prevention or within Financial Services.
  • Practical experience conducting investigations.
  • Familiarity with submitting Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) to the NCA or CIFAS.
