We’re pleased to share an exciting internal opportunity to join the Compliance & Conduct team as a Compliance & Conduct Business Partner, on a 12-month secondment.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working collaboratively across the Society, has strong regulatory awareness, and wants to help shape how we respond to emerging compliance and conduct expectations.

About the role

As a key member of the Compliance & Conduct team, you will act as a subject matter expert on emerging regulation and conduct.

You’ll partner closely with key business areas and senior stakeholders, particularly those leading or involved with transformation activity, to interpret complex regulatory and internally driven change, assess impacts and support the delivery of pragmatic, compliant solutions that keep good customer outcomes at the centre.

This is a highly collaborative role with visibility across the organisation, offering the opportunity to influence decision‑making and support our ongoing cultural and customer‑focused ambitions.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Assessing emerging regulations, regulatory expectations and industry developments, providing early insight and shaping Principality’s approach to regulatory and conduct change.
  • Business Partnering with allocated key business areas, project teams and senior stakeholders to support challenge and provide second-line assurances on regulatory and conduct requirements throughout the change lifecycle.
  • Providing expert advice which is pragmatic and tailored to key business areas, translating complex regulatory requirements into clear, proportionate and deliverable outcomes.
  • Supporting effective governance and oversight of regulatory change, including contributing to high-quality Executive and Board-level papers and decision-making.
  • Championing good customer outcomes and conduct standards and supporting Principality’s open, constructive and transparent engagement with regulators.

What you’ll bring:

We are looking for someone who:

  • You will have at least 5 years’ experience operating in a senior second-line compliance role, or leading and delivering complex regulatory change within a regulated financial services environment.
  • Understands change management and has partnered with business areas on complex initiatives.
  • Can interpret and simplify regulatory requirements for different audiences.
  • Strong business partnering skills, with the ability to build trust, influence effectively, communicate clearly and provide objective independent challenge.
  • Brings a proactive, solutions‑focused mindset, with a genuine commitment to good customer outcomes.
  • You will be comfortable working autonomously with minimal supervision, exercising sound judgment, integrity and transparency and proactively escalating issues, risk or concerns where appropriate.

Why apply?

This role offers the chance to:

  • Shape how the Society responds to regulatory change.
  • Work closely with senior leaders and teams across the business.
  • Develop specialist expertise and broaden your strategic understanding.
  • Make a meaningful contribution to customer outcomes and our cultural development.
