We have an exciting opportunity for an Academy IT Security Analyst to join our IT Security Team on a 6-month secondment basis.
In this role, you’ll support the ongoing security and compliance of our IT estate. You’ll help manage vulnerabilities and patching activities, review and investigate security alerts, and contribute to reporting and assurance processes.
You’ll work closely with other Security Analysts and collaborate with teams across IT. While the role is primarily analyst-focused, it also offers exposure to security engineering activities and opportunities to broaden your experience.
What you’ll be doing:
- Gathering and preparing evidence for assurance and audit teams
- Creating control data, reports, and IT security management information
- Supporting the IT Security team with triage and management of support tickets related to Identity and Access issues.
- Analyse Active Directory and Entra ID group data using spreadsheets
- Identify and document group ownership, access levels, and alignment to naming standards
- Updating of group and account information to align with agreed standards
- Review service accounts and enterprise application registrations to document ownership, purpose, access, and security controls
- Contribute to improving role-based access control through structured analysis of group data
- Research existing single sign-on (SSO) applications to capture ownership, usage, and privilege levels
- Gather information from stakeholders across the business to validate ownership and access
- Produce clear, structured documentation suitable for business and governance use
Placement Outcomes (Deliverables / Success Measures)
- Establish clear ownership for identity groups, service accounts, and SSO applications
- Improve overall data quality and consistency across identity and access records
- Provide structured outputs (spreadsheets and documents) to support ongoing governance and audit
- Increase documented understanding of SSO application privilege
- Increase role-based access control (RBAC) coverage from 27% to >80%
- Increase service account documentation coverage from 1% to >95%
