Lead with Impact at Wales’ Largest Building Society

We’re currently recruiting for a Senior Financial Reporting Manager to lead our Financial Reporting team at Principality Building Society. This is a key leadership role, responsible for overseeing our financial reporting calendar – from month-end to year-end – managing the external audit process and ensuring full compliance with accounting and tax standards.

This is a great opportunity for someone with strong technical accounting expertise and excellent leadership skills who is looking to make a real difference in a purpose-led, member-focused organisation.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Leading the month-end, half-year and year-end financial reporting processes
  • Managing the relationship with external auditors, including oversight of the audit for the Group and subsidiaries
  • Preparing and presenting accounting judgements to the Audit Committee
  • Leading the external tax reporting process and managing the work of external tax advisors
  • Coaching, developing and leading a high-performing financial reporting team
  • Driving continuous improvement in financial reporting and operational excellence

Key Skills & Attributes:

  • Strong technical accounting knowledge
  • Proven experience managing complex financial reporting cycles and external audits
  • Excellent senior stakeholder management, including reporting to Exec and Board levels
  • Strong project management capability, particularly around tight year-end timelines
  • Ability to coach and develop teams and foster a collaborative culture
  • Organisational intelligence and the ability to influence at a senior level
  • A mindset for continuous improvement of systems, controls and reporting processes

Your Experience:

We're looking for candidates who have:

  • Experience working within a Financial Reporting team
  • A track record of working within regulated or financial services environments

Qualifications:

  • Qualified Accountant
