Head of Reward

Are you an experienced reward leader ready to shape and deliver an ambitious Total Reward strategy? We’re looking for a Head of Reward to join us as a key member of our People Leadership Team, partnering closely with our Chief People Officer and senior leaders to create a forward-thinking, data-led and colleague-centred approach to reward.

This is a high-impact role where you’ll influence executive stakeholders, guide the Remuneration Committee agenda, and lead a talented Reward team.  You’ll have the opportunity to shape a progressive, inclusive and colleague-focused Reward strategy at enterprise level. Working in a supportive and purpose-driven organisation, you’ll influence major decisions, partner with senior stakeholders, and make a meaningful impact on the colleague experience.

As our Head of Reward, you will:

Lead our Total Reward Strategy Shaping, developing and implementing a leading Total Reward proposition aligned to our People strategy, championing simplicity and continuous improvement. Oversee the annual reward plan, including budgeting, resource planning and cyclical reward activities.

Guide the Remuneration Committee - Own and manage all aspects of the Remuneration Committee agenda in partnership with the RemCo Chair, advisers and senior leaders, ensuring full compliance with reward-related regulation and legislation. Stay ahead of emerging trends and legislative changes, offering proactive insight and expertise.

Manage Key Partnerships - Build effective relationships with external partners and suppliers, ensuring strong alignment to our values and return on investment, working closely with our Pensions Adviser and Finance teams on all aspects of pension governance and management.

Be a Visible People Leader - Collaborate across People Partnering, Centres of Excellence and People Services to integrate reward into wider people priorities. Influence, guide and support senior stakeholders across the Society, acting as a trusted and proactive enterprise leader.

The Experience we are looking for:

  • Extensive reward and benefits experience, including working with Remuneration Committees and preparing board-level papers.
  • Proven success leading reward in a regulated environment within financial services
  • Strong people management skills,with the ability to lead, develop and support across the organisation
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to translate insight into action.
  • Experience managing complex projects and organisational change.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to distil complex topics into clear, concise messaging
  • Skilled at building trusted relationships and influencing at executive level.
  • Organised, detail-focused, proactive and able to work under pressure with resilience and integrity
