Trust Health and Safety Manager

Salary: £55,523-£62,867 per annum - (starting salary subject to experience and qualifications)

40 Hours per week, 52 weeks per year – Evening and Weekend work required

The post can be based at any of our Schools or Colleges in Sheffield, Birmingham, Stourbridge and Nailsworth in Gloucestershire. There is an expectation that the post holder will travel to the other Trust provisions on a regular basis

In this role as Trust Health and Safety Manager, you will ensure that the Trust’s unique vision and its innovative approach to education and residential care continues to comply with all legislative and regulatory requirements regarding Health and Safety practice and procedures.

As the Trust Health and Safety Manager, you will have responsibility for the review, development, implementation and monitoring of good practice in Health and Safety across the whole of Ruskin Mill Trust, to ensure the safety of staff, students, visitors and contractors, in line with current Health and Safety and associated legislation.  You will provide advice and support to the Trust’s school, college and residential care leaders as well as enhancing the skills, knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety Leads who work in each of the Trust’s centres.

The successful candidate will have appropriate experience of operating in a similar role within an organisation of a similar size; have a NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent, ideally a NEBOSH Diploma; have experience of delivering training; and experience of managing a diverse workload and meeting strict deadlines.

The ideal candidate will be well organised and have a good eye for detail, as well as the ability to take a strategic overview of the Health and Safety issues across the Trust.  You will be able to work both independently and within the framework of a dispersed and multi-layered team.  The successful post holder will be adaptable and flexible to the requirements of the role, show initiative and self-leadership, have a high level of personal resilience, and good communication skills.
