Our global delivery of data, streaming, pictures and content enables more than 100,000 betting opportunities a year. SIS delivers a broad range of products and services across a range of sports, with a particular focus on horse racing and greyhound racing. 

SIS have a strong and successful heritage in both horse racing and greyhound racing, providing media, pictures and data to betting operators. Over recent years the business has invested in wider product capability and now has a range of additional products and services suitable for retail and online bookmakers both domestically and internationally. 

SIS continually innovates to ensure that our customers can offer the best betting experience, including SIS Stream (a new streaming platform), a complex automated gallery solution for production, and a series of trading and pricing products. 

As a major supplier of content to the betting industry, SIS now offers a wide suite of new products and services aimed for the digital and retail markets:

  • SIS provide the live racing coverage – video, audio commentary and betting information - and all the bookmakers data streams.
  • SIS Stream, the multi-platform streaming solution enables bookmakers to attract and retain customers. SIS’s “open streaming” Watch and Bet service allows users to view content free of charge before placing bets.
  • Outsourced trading and pricing services.
  • Virtual content – including numbers games, racing and football.
  • UK and international horseracing content - racing from across 70 racecourses within the UK & Ireland tracks, as well as international racing including France, Germany, US, Latin America and UAE.
  • Greyhound racing - exclusive coverage from 8 UK tracks shown in 99% of UK&I licensed LBO’s as well as tracks from Ireland.  

The role 

The role requires a credible & strategic senior finance leader to work closely with the CFO, CEO, Commercial Director, Product Director and other key stakeholders in driving commercial insight to support further international and digital growth. A key strategic objective of the business is to achieve material diversification from its core UK Retail B2B division which currently underpins the performance of the business and this role is critical to that success. 

Responsibilities will include:

  • Owning the full FP&A process, driving improvements to ensure a seamless business and financial planning process.
  • Developing reporting frameworks to facilitate strategic decision making, identifying business improvement opportunities and providing best in class commercial finance support.
  • Driving sophisticated and commercial business performance and economic model analysis to provide high quality, independent investment appraisal.
  • Leading the commercial input and assumptions to set the annual Budget, rolling 12-month forecasts and 5-year strategic plan process.
  • Working closely with the Reporting team to ensure timely and accurate business reporting.
  • Contributing into the commercial and contractual negotiations of long-term customer arrangements across all divisions
  • Managing the commercial finance team who work closely with the Product, Sales and Account Management teams.

Desirable qualities in candidates include:

  • Fully qualified accountant already operating at a senior level.
  • First class financial modelling and analytical skills.
  • Sector experience in high growth B2B service / rights exploitation / digital business.
  • Possession of strong commercial acumen, with the ability to think strategically whilst in and among the detail.
  • A proven record of delivering value in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Ability to identify the key business drivers and impact of decisions on the wider business and industry.
  • Energetic, highly motivated, with an enquiring mind and passion for excellence and innovation in pursuit of business growth and success.
