Marketing & Customer Activation Manager

This is a hybrid role, with a requirement to work in either our London or Milton Keynes office one or two days a week.

We are looking for a Marketing & Customer Activation Manager to help drive profitable sales growth through the development of activities to support our bookmaker customers to promote our products, and to manage specific marketing channels to drive consumer (bookmaker customers) engagement with our range of products.   

Customer marketing support:

  • Management of all marketing support required by our bookmaker customers globally, to help promote our products to their customers (bettors).

Consumer engagement:

  • Plan and execute consumer facing marketing channels to engage our customers’ customers with our key products (Racing, Esports, and Live numbers draws).

  

Key Responsibilities:  

Customer marketing support

  • Work closely with Sales team to understand customer requirements to help engage their customers with our products, which will differ by territory eg: some may need product related content to help educate bettors on racing (where there may be a low level of prior racing heritage), and others may wish to promote our products.
  • Where possible, work with bookmaker marketing teams to determine the level of support required ie: SIS to create a suite of in-shop and/or online marketing collateral or just create and supply assets for bookmaker marketing teams to use.
  • Plan and develop appropriate marketing assets for retail and online eg: in-shop leaflets and posters, and online banners etc.
  • Identify additional opportunities to help educate and promote our products with our customers eg: for retail customers, creating staff competitions etc.
  • Shape and coordinate a program of key horse racing festivals internationally, to promote to our customers, by liaising with the Sales team to understand and agree the schedule. 

Consumer engagement – 49’s live numbers draws

  • Shape the b2c marketing plans for our 49’s live numbers draws – work closely with 49’s Head of Product Proposition to agree objectives and plans.
  • Manage the development of the 49’s website content, working closely with the Digital Commercial Manager, to ensure consumer engagement and click- throughs to our affiliate partners’ websites.
  • Coordinate 49’s b2c social media activities to drive followers and engagement and drive traffic to the 49’s website.

 Consumer engagement – Competitive Gaming (Esports)

  • Help shape the development and execution of the new SIS Competitive Gaming b2c website.
  • Manage the Competitive Gaming website content to help drive awareness of our Esports gamers (Ebasketball, Esoccer, and CS:GO) and help communicate key information around skill levels, previous form etc, to equip bettors with the knowledge required to make informed bets on our product.
  • Work closely with the Digital Commercial Manager to determine how to optimise click-throughs to bookmaker affiliate partners’ websites. 

Consumer engagement – Horse & greyhound racing

  • Help shape the development and execution of the new SIS racing b2c website.
  • Manage the racing website content to help drive awareness of our horse and greyhound racing and help communicate key information around key races, previous form etc, to equip bettors with the knowledge required to make informed bets on our product.
  • Work closely with the Digital Commercial Manager to determine how to optimise click-throughs to bookmaker affiliate partners’ websites. 

Budget management

  • Ensure ongoing tracking of invoices to P.O’s, and manage budget for respective areas.
  • Feed into the ‘bottom up’ annual budget development, led by the Strategic Marketing Manager, and work with agencies to build the plan and the associated annual budget recommendations to the Head of Marketing.

 

Skills and Experience: 

Experience & educational requirements:

  • Degree level preferred
  • 3 to 5 years+ experience in marketing comms development and execution (ideally a mixture of b2b and b2c experience preferred, but open to just b2c).
  • Strong commercial awareness
  • Exposure to working in fast changing markets

 

Marketing competencies:

  • Track record in developing & executing marketing and communications plans – proven understanding of marketing mix
  • Skilled in judging creative – cut-through comms in line with brand and tone of voice
  • Working with marketing agencies
  • Experience in managing website and social media content development and reporting
  • Marketing budget management
