Help Shape the Future of Broadcast Technology
Are you an experienced Broadcast Engineer looking to play a key role in the industry's transition from SDI to IP?
At SIS, we're investing in the future of broadcast technology and are looking for a Broadcast Solutions Engineer to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on innovative projects involving SMPTE ST 2110, IP-based workflows, and leading-edge broadcast solutions.
As a business, we're large enough to deliver major broadcast projects, but small enough for you to make a real impact. You'll work alongside talented colleagues, collaborate with customers and suppliers, and help design and deliver the next generation of broadcast systems.
About the Role
Reporting to the Broadcast Solutions Manager, you will lead the end-to-end design and delivery of broadcast systems, supporting installations, migrations and technology transformation projects across the business.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the design and delivery of broadcast solutions from concept through to implementation.
- Producing and managing system designs and CAD documentation.
- Maintaining accurate system and service transition documentation.
- Supervising external installation and wiring resources.
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders to ensure business requirements are met.
- Working closely with customers and suppliers during installations and migrations.
- Keeping up to date with industry developments and best practice.
About You
We're looking for someone who has a strong technical background and a passion for broadcast innovation.
You will ideally have:
- A background in Broadcast Engineering, Electronic Engineering, IP Media or a related discipline.
- Excellent understanding of live transmission chains within IP broadcast environments.
- Strong knowledge of video and audio broadcast systems, streaming protocols and compression technologies.
- Experience diagnosing technical issues using broadcast test and measurement equipment.
- Knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Experience working with vision, audio, routing, communications and server-based broadcast systems.
- Hands-on experience of networking, IT infrastructure and cloud technologies.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a wider team.
Experience of SMPTE ST 2110 and modern IP-based broadcast workflows would be highly advantageous.
Location & Travel
This role is predominantly based at our Milton Keynes office, operating on a hybrid basis with three office days per week. Occasional travel will be required to our Manchester office, Harlow Data Centre and customer sites.
