Head of Sports Trading
Location: London (Hybrid – 3 days per week in the office)

We’re looking for an experienced and driven Head of Sports Trading to lead our Competitive Gaming and esports trading function at SIS. This is a senior leadership role where strategy, people leadership, trading excellence and innovation all come together.

The Role
You’ll take overall responsibility for the performance, development and evolution of our in‑play and support trading teams, alongside our outsourced trading partners.
You’ll be equally comfortable leading people, reviewing trading performance, collaborating with technology teams on algorithms and models, and working closely with clients to deliver best‑in‑class betting products. Acting as the senior escalation point, you’ll ensure trading excellence, operational resilience and continuous improvement across the function.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead and manage all Competitive Gaming and relevant esports trading activity
- Build, develop and inspire high‑performing trading teams, including recruitment, onboarding and performance management
- Own trading performance, profitability and resource planning on a daily and weekly basis
- Manage relationships and performance of outsourced trading partners
- Act as the key escalation point for trading‑related issues, ensuring real‑time resolution
- Work closely with technology teams to test, refine and enhance algorithms, tools and trading models
- Collaborate with customers’ trading teams to deliver optimal odds, settlements and service
- Monitor product performance, report insights and identify improvement opportunities
- Benchmark products against competitors and drive product enhancements
- Support the development, testing and launch of new betting products
- Partner with senior leaders to execute and optimise Competitive Gaming strategy
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience leading a sports or esports trading function or team at a senior level
- Significant experience in odds compilation and trading, ideally with strong in‑play exposure across multiple sports
- Strong background in a B2B trading environment
- Excellent numerical and mathematical skills, with a solid understanding of algorithms
- Highly proficient in Excel and data‑driven decision making
- Confident decision‑maker who can act quickly in customer‑impacting scenarios
- Strong communicator with the ability to translate complex trading issues clearly
- Passionate about sport, with particular enthusiasm for US‑based sports
- Self‑motivated, collaborative and committed to continuous improvement
Desirable but Not Essential
- Experience working closely with technical or data science teams
- Knowledge of building or refining trader tools and algorithms
- Exposure to data, prediction models or product lifecycle methodologies
- Broad interest across multiple sports and betting products
