Maintenance Officer
Working Pattern - Monday, Thursday and Friday (7.5 hours per day)
Salary - £12.60 per hour
About the Role:
You’ll work as part of a supportive team, delivering high-quality maintenance, gardening, and general support services that help create a safe and welcoming environment for all.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out internal and external maintenance and repairs
- Oversee electrical, plumbing, and alarm systems
- Maintain and service Convent vehicles
- Support gardening and grounds maintenance tasks
- Escort and oversee contractors on site
- Assist with furniture movement and general duties
- Transport Sisters to appointments and deliver donations
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs and report safety risks
What We’re Looking For:
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good physical fitness and willingness to work outdoors in all weather
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of the role
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- Valid UK Driving Licence (Category B)
- Commitment to the values of Hospitality, Compassion, and Respect
Desirable Skills:
- First Aid qualification
- Experience with tools, machinery, and general building tasks
- Basic IT skills and ability to complete online training
The role is subject to a successful enhanced DBS, the cost of this will be covered by SJOG.
