Sales Development Representative
Purpose of Role
To accelerate company growth by executing targeted lead pursuit and strategic demand generation activity, with a dedicated focus on Industrial Asset Management solutions. Collaborating closely with account sales teams under the direction of the Team Leader, the role combines proactive pipeline development and business acquisition to consistently exceed targets. Central to this position is delivering an exceptional customer experience and representing SolutionsPT with the highest level of professional excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Targeted Demand Generation: Work within the overall company lead generation and pursuit processes, specifically identifying and qualifying opportunities within the Industrial Asset Management sector. Duties may include outbound prospecting by phone, email and social channels; qualifying inbound and outbound leads; researching target accounts; booking meetings for sales colleagues; following up campaigns, webinars and events.
- Sales Alignment: Align with the Company Customer Centric Selling process in all sales activity.
- Brand Ambassadorship: Embody the company values in all engagements with customers, prospects, partners, and suppliers. Be an enthusiastic and engaged advocate for SolutionsPT, particularly our growth platform products, services, and asset management portfolios.
- Reporting & Feedback: Provide input to a monthly sales report that allows market, sector, and customer feedback to be shared throughout the company, promoting best practice within the sales team.
- Sales Team Support: Support the account sales teams and assist Field Sales to ensure that all opportunities are detailed, updated, and correctly categorised within the company CRM. Ensure relevant notes and correspondence are logged and accurately forecast for closure.
Collaboration & Learning: Fully and enthusiastically participate in meetings to develop self-learning, share best practice, and effectively communicate with team members to ensure a strong understanding of products, services, sales forecasts, and activity.

Authority and Key Accountability
- Accountability to allocate and when appropriate pursue leads to the point of opportunity creation
- Maintain accurate CRM data and pipeline hygiene; ensuring lead status, notes and follow-up actions are kept up to date; escalating qualified opportunities appropriately; and contributing relevant market insight, activity data and feedback into monthly sales reporting
Skills, qualifications and competence level
Essential
· Current Undergraduate or Recent Graduate looking to kickstart a career in technology and industrial sales.
· Good verbal and written communication skills.
· Keen to develop a deep understanding of the general IT landscape and Industrial Asset Management concepts.
· Self-motivated, resilient, and a strong team player.
· Inquisitive personality with a desire to learn.
Previous experience in customer-facing, sales, retail, business development, placement year or internship experience would be advantageous.
Desirable
- Academic background or foundational knowledge of Manufacturing, Infrastructure, or Engineering environments.
- An understanding of Business-to-Business (B2B) selling and marketing.
· Full UK Driving License is desirable as occasional travel within the UK may be required to support customer meetings, events and internal collaboration.
This role is intended to provide development in business development and technology sales, with potential progression into broader sales or account management roles subject to performance, capability and business need.
