Inside Sales Engineer

3.   Purpose of the role

A combination of lead generation and sales will be required to achieve your targets whilst ensuring our customers are delighted through engagement with M.A.C. Solutions.

This role is predominantly desk based, interacting with customers to understand their requirements and providing a solution which fits their needs (mainly within MAC’s OPC software portfolio). The role will also include responding to general ‘quote to order’ enquiries which are inbound to MAC.

Collaboration is encouraged across MAC to increase our customer reach, improve the services we provide, and drive efficiency, knowledge and enjoyment.

4.   Key Responsibilities

  • Expand sales of product and technical services to existing customer base, provide excellent customer service and increase the profitability of M.A.C. Solutions.
  • Manage requests for quotes, from pre-qualifying, negotiation, quote follow-up and securing the order.
  • Be the conduit between the customer and MAC’s Technical Support team to ensure that the customer’s requirements are fully understood and that our offering fits their needs.
  • Be the conduit between the customer and M.A.C.’s Sales Orders team and Finance team to ensure purchase orders are processed correctly.
  • Conduct outbound prospecting through email, LinkedIn, phone, and other targeted outreach.
  • Research target companies and identify key contacts across industries relevant to our solutions.
  • Qualify leads through structured conversations and needs (BANT) analysis.
  • Work with Product Managers to understand solution value and positioning across verticals.
  • Support expansion efforts in existing accounts by identifying new contacts or departments.
  • Maintain accurate records within MAC’s CRM system.
  • Contribute to regular reporting on pipeline development, meetings booked, and lead quality.

5.    Skills and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computing, engineering or equivalent
  • 2-4 years of proven experience in technical sales, inside sales role, or similar.
  • Technical knowledge of industrial information and communication technology within the Automation and IT and OT markets is a bonus. Specific product training once in role.
  • A passion for continuous development and self-learning.
  • Self-motivated and driven to succeed.
  • Effective communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • A natural team player with strong problem-solving skills
