Network and Cyber Security Consultant

At SolutionsPT, our Network and Cyber Security Consultants perform a key function
within the One Technical Team (OTT), they provide hands-on technical input to assist in driving toward the OTT vision with respect to all aspects of Networking and Cyber Security for our industrial customers.


With the ability to work flexibly/remotely from anywhere in the UK or Ireland, and
directly with customers on site and at their offices (up to 25% of the time), they provide technical engineering and consulting during all stages of Network and Cyber Security related customer projects, including accurate effort estimates, writing specifications, deployment, installation, commissioning and acceptance testing.

The role is expected to be a technical authority/subject matter expert in the application of Network and Cyber Security solutions and also their place in the wider context of the SolutionsPT business.


Excellent communications skills and the ability to interact with customers from
Engineer to C-Suite is expected.


Key Responsibilities
• To understand customer requirements and translate them into robust technical
solutions in order to scope consultancy and project work.
• To propose and present innovative solution architectures that meet the needs of
our industrial customers.
• To deliver consultancy and project work to time, cost and quality requirements.
• Assist with the creating and delivery of network and cyber security workshops
with customers.
• To deliver or assist others with the delivery of network and cyber security
focused training courses.
• To lead and assist with the delivery of Proof of Value projects.
• Deliver obsolescence / security / upgrade / governance audits.
• To actively support our customers with technical issues and identify new
opportunities for future growth.
• To escalate technical and/or commercial concerns to your line manager.
• Understand the product market space in terms of trends, customer needs and
opportunities in relation to SolutionsPT products/services. Provide direct customer
feedback to products group and sales. Feed into the supplier technical pain lists.
• To stay up to date with the development of new products, industry best practices
& operating systems, including hypervisors.

SolutionsPT offers to its customers.
• To work with minimum supervision remotely, at SolutionsPT and customer
premises.
• To provide guidance and mentoring to more junior members of the team as

• To provide excellent customer service as well as maintain and improve customer
satisfaction as measured by our customers’ Net Promoter Scores.
• To engage at all levels within the organisation to ensure input is provided in the
innovation of products, procedures, technologies & services to ensure the organisation
continuously improves value to our customer base.

other such duties as may reasonably be required.

Skills, qualifications and competence level

Essential
• Recognised networking qualification such as up-to-date CCNA certification.
• Recognised security qualification such as up-to-date CISSP/GICSP certification.
• Deep understanding of typical Networking and Cyber Security Products and
concepts as they apply to industrial markets: ie value proposition, features,
implementation and configuration.
• Experience of live working on Industrial Control Systems.
• Being able to align to the company values.
• An understanding Microsoft Server OS administration and networking.
• An understanding of configuring and working in a virtualized environment.
• High standard of presentation and communication skills, able to tailor
messaging to fit the target audience from Engineer to C-Suite.

Desirable
• Experience in delivering security solutions to defined security frameworks such
as IE62443, OG86, CAF, PAS86, NIST etc.
• Experience of Cisco and Fortinet products as well as industrial networking
equipment such as Hirschmann / Belden etc.
• Excellent Microsoft Windows and Linux experience.
• Good understanding of network monitoring, event logging and security practices
such as zones and conduits.
• Working knowledge of security testing tools included within Kali Linux
• A basic / high level understanding of SCADA systems, preferably prior exposure
to the AVEVA portfolio.
• Experience with network monitoring and threat detection solutions.
• Experience with device hardening across multispectral technology stacks
