Personal Assistant (Support Worker)
Job Purpose
Our Personal Assistants support people to lead full, active, and socially connected lives, supporting people to achieve the things that matter to them.
Applicants should have, or be willing to work towards, a qualification meeting the standards required for registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).
Job Details
This young man is supported 24/7 by an Individual team from Thistle Foundation. Flexibility and spontaneity are important as is being a team player, and being able to use your initiative. He likes his team to make things happen, be outgoing, flexible (to support him on trips, holidays, gaps in shifts), chatty and have a sense of humour.
There are 2x18hrs posts available, sleepovers will be required and a full UK driving licence is preferred.
About this opportunity
The gentleman lives in his own flat near the Botanic Gardens in Edinburgh and has his own car which his team drives. He enjoys leading a busy life: dancing, pottery, media, listening to music, going to concerts, socialising and meeting new people, being spontaneous and adventurous. He has piloted planes, driven speedboats and skied. He has travelled to Africa, America and Australia and is currently involved in developing a website.
