Job Purpose
Our Wellbeing Practitioners support people to lead full, active and socially connected lives, supporting people to achieve the things that matter to them.
Applicants should have, or be willing to work towards, a qualification meeting the standards required for registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).
Job Details
We are looking for one Female* Wellbeing Practitioner to join an existing team supporting a lady living independently in her own home in Morningside, Edinburgh. We have one position available 18 hours per week which also includes a paid on call.

Please note that a full clean driving manual licence is essential for this position.
We are looking for an exceptional Female* Wellbeing Practitioner who is willing to join a Team which is dedicated to supporting a woman who loves her own home and has an active and fun-filled community life which she requires careful support to enjoy to the full. Therefore, we are looking for a person who is flexible, resilient and creative to support her to build her life. You will join a dedicated and committed small team who work in shifts on a 24/7 basis to ensure that the lady in question receives the highest quality of support. The team also cover each other’s annual and sick leave as required. An on-call system is also in place to ensure that the woman always has her own staff if someone is suddenly off sick. There is a payment attached to this.

The confidence to take responsibility on a day-to-day basis and help the person cope with regular seizures.
Good clear communication is important with other team members and the lady herself.
You will be responsible for cooking and routine daily tasks like dressing, showering and personal care, however, it is equally important for the person to be encouraged to do as much as possible for herself. Supporting her in such interests as horse riding, swimming and Tai-chi. You will provide motivation, emotional support, and role modelling. As a result, you will get from this - a trusted person in your life who, once you have developed a relationship, will give you back so much more than you could ever expect.
You will be provided with the highest standard of training to support your development in this role. Thistle will support you to achieve the SVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care, pay for your PVG and SSSC Registration and offer training to support your role as a Wellbeing Practitioner.
In the first six months of employment, you will complete a range of training and learning, including our ‘See Life Differently’ course which will give you a good grounding in how to do your job using the person-centred Thistle Approach.
