Screen Content Analyst - Head Office


The Screen Content Analyst plays a critical role in supporting the development and execution of Vue’s commercial strategy across two critical areas: Pricing and Screen Content.

 

The Pricing team are responsible for optimising Vue’s ticket, retail & B2B pricing to maximise revenue and profitability. This includes both strategic long-term price management, such as Vue’s Dynamic Pricing strategy, with short-term tactical activity. The team run trials and implement strategic initiatives to continually drive profitability.

The Vue Screen Content team is responsible for the design and delivery of the film schedules (over 25,000 weekly shows) – we aim to show the right film, at the right time, in the right location to deliver a content strategy that delights our customers and maximises our commercial performance.

 

This role combines advanced data analysis, operational oversight, and strategic collaboration to optimise profitability and market share. The successful candidate will take a leading role in defining strategy, running trials, and ultimately optimising Vue’s commercial strategy.

 

Key Accountabilities

 

Pricing

Take a leading role in defining and refining the UK Pricing strategy, incorporating content performance data, demographic analysis, market trends, and competitor benchmarking.

Oversee the optimisation of Vue's base ticket pricing, Dynamic Pricing, and Retail (food & beverage) pricing.

Design and manage pricing trials to evaluate pricing strategies, coordinating with colleagues across the organisation to ensure effective implementation, as well as robust measurement and evaluation.

Support the evaluation of potential B2B opportunities by analysing their impact on profitability and alignment with wider strategic goals.

Collaborate with the Marketing team to ensure transparent and compliant communication of pricing to customers.

 

Leadership and Development

Mentor and guide the Pricing & Content Coordinator, fostering their development and alignment with strategic objectives.

Work with the Coordinator to ensure pricing changes are implemented smoothly.

Collaborate with the Head of Screen Content & Pricing to enhance team processes and performance.

 

Analysis and Reporting

Develop efficient KPI dashboards and ad-hoc reports, including competitor benchmarking, for rapid performance insights.

Conduct in-depth analyses of pricing and scheduling outcomes, providing insights to inform Group-level strategy and local execution.

Working with the Finance team, providing detailed and accurate forecasts of average ticket price for short-term and long-term planning.

Manage and enhance data systems, ensuring the quality and accessibility of key information

Integrate advanced tools including PowerBI and SQL into forecasting and reporting processes to enhance data accessibility and analysis.

 

Stakeholder and Feedback Management

Build and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders (including Marketing, Finance & Tech teams), ensuring alignment on content and pricing strategies.

Collaborate with the Operations team to factor in feedback from cinema teams, ensuring that strategies are operationally viable and impactful.

Represent the territory in Group-led initiatives and meetings, ensuring local requirements and insights are effectively communicated.

 

Scheduling and Content Management

Oversee the operation and continual improvement of the AI Scheduling tool, ensuring accurate data inputs and effective utilisation.

Analyse and maintain the film forecasting model, providing accurate forecasts and documenting changes for transparency.

Manage and improve tools designed to forecast film performance based on advance pre-sales.

Monitor admissions and market share trends, delivering weekly and monthly performance insights.

Analyse scheduling performance and provide actionable insights to the Screen Content team.

Design and manage trials to assess the new scheduling initiatives and operational processes.

Quantitively evaluate Vue’s performance on all levels of programming from the performance of an individual film to long-terms trends at a genre level.

 

The Person

 

Technical Knowledge & Experience

 

Significant experience in data analysis and/or commercial roles within a commercial environment.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a passion for investigating business dynamics and interpreting data to identify actionable insights.

Advanced proficiency in Excel, with experience using tools like PowerBI and SQL for data analysis and reporting.

 

Skills

 

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, capable of influencing stakeholders at all levels.

Proven ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships and lead cross-functional collaboration.

 

Desirable

 

Knowledge of the cinema or entertainment industry.

Familiarity with competitor benchmarking and market analysis in a multi-site business.

Exposure to pricing models and financial forecasting.

Experience using AI-driven tools or systems for decision-making.
