The Company

Are you looking for a rewarding career, working with the friendly and supportive team, with great staff benefits and all set-in beautiful surroundings?

Then Augustinian Care, St George’s Park is the place for you!

We are a Care Home, Assisted Living, and Retirement Village complex located on Ditchling Common, within 3 miles of both Burgess Hill and Haywards Heath. Set within 250 acres of beautiful gardens and farmlands, in an area of outstanding natural beauty, St George’s Park offers views overlooking the South Downs.

Our staff take great pride in making a difference to the lives of our many residents and their families. We offer an excellent working environment which, in turn, makes working for us a very rewarding experience. You will have access to our excellent training programme, and we pride ourselves on a continuous improvement plan for all our new and existing staff to ensure they have the ongoing knowledge, skills and commitment to become and continue to be a successful, valued member of our team.

Our rates of pay are competitive, and our staff benefits are extensive and include free uniform, free meal, paid breaks and a free staff minibus service from both the Burgess Hill and Haywards Heath areas.

The Role

The Multisite Chef and Kitchen Assistant will be responsible for assisting with the day-to-day operations of the catering function wherever needed within St George’s Park. Whilst this is a multi-site position, all working locations are on one site covering different kitchens within our site including our Retirement Village, Care Homes, and Assisted Living Development.

As a Multisite Chef, you will be responsible for the preparation of meals for our residents at breakfast, lunch, and dinner times, as well as ensuring there is a high quality of food, service, hygiene and cleanliness maintained throughout the kitchen. When working as a Chef, you will be responsible for the kitchen function and will therefore, at times, be responsible for overseeing the catering team. Strong interpersonal, leadership, and organisational skills are therefore greatly welcomed into this role.

There will also be times when you will be asked to work as a Kitchen Assistant with no drop in pay. During these times you will be supporting the Chef that is on shift, assisting with preparing ingredients, serving food to our residents, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness at all times.

Requirements

The successful candidate will hold, or be working towards, City and Guilds 706 1 & 2 qualifications or equivalent, relevant qualifications, and current Food Hygiene Certificate Level 3.

The successful candidate will also have at least 2 years’ experience in catering, or a similar role, and be able to work well under pressure.

All posts are subject to a clear enhanced criminal record check and satisfactory references.

Although it is no longer a legal requirement for staff working within CQC regulated Care Homes for Older Adult Care in England to be fully COVID-19 vaccinated, in the best interests of our staff and residents, we have decided to keep it a mandatory requirement to work for our organisation. Therefore, we will need proof of your COVID Vaccination pass.

You must have current valid right to work in the UK.

This role does not meet the requirements of Sponsorship.
