What we need, in a nutshell

We’re looking for an experienced, operational People Manager to drive and implement our regional People strategy during a 12-month maternity cover period.

Working closely with the Head of People Partnering, Regional Operations Directors, and General Managers, you’ll be responsible for delivering core People activity across your region, including workforce planning, recruitment, employee relations, engagement, and capability development. You’ll over the implementation of the people plan by playing a key role in embedding people processes, supporting leaders to manage their teams effectively, and ensuring consistent, legally compliant people practices across all parks.

This role requires someone who is confident leading complex employee relations casework, comfortable operating in a fast-paced, multi-site environment, and able to balance commercial priorities with a strong, people-centred approach. You’ll help build succession, strengthen retention, and support a culture of recognition and development, ensuring our People strategy is translated into practical, impactful outcomes on the ground.

Who are we?

We are a dynamic and growing company, redefining the Great British holiday. With 27 UK resorts, we go the extra mile to create memorable guest experiences — powered by brilliant teams across our parks and central support functions.

At Away Resorts, our people are at the heart of everything we do. We are proud of the inclusive, energetic, and people-first culture we continue to build, where individuals are supported to grow, develop, and thrive.

What you’ll be doing

If you can match the skills, experience, and qualities below, we’d love to hear from you:

  • Partner with the Head of People Partnering, Regional People team, and Operations Directors to drive and embed the people strategy
  • Own and deliver the regional annual people plan, covering recruitment, training, engagement, and retention
  • Champion reward and recognition strategies that motivate, engage, and retain teams
  • Lead on complex employee relations cases, ensuring legally compliant and commercially sound outcomes
  • Advocate and embed people products and processes, supporting and upskilling operational leaders to deliver the People agenda
  • Develop and maintain succession plans across the region, ensuring key roles are future-ready
  • Provide evaluation, insight, and feedback on People initiatives to support continuous improvement
  • Support Operations Directors and General Managers in building a strong culture of recognition and career development

Skills, experience, and qualities you’ll need

  • Proven experience in a regional or multi-site operational HR role
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver an annual people plan in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong experience managing complex employee relations cases
  • Commercial awareness, with the ability to link People decisions to cost, performance, and operational outcomes
  • Confidence influencing and coaching senior operational stakeholders
  • A pragmatic, solutions-focused approach with the ability to simplify and clearly communicate complex issues
  • CIPD qualification
  • Experience within leisure, hospitality, or retail is beneficial, but not essential

It’s about your values too

We have a can-do, people-centred ethos and look for individuals who genuinely care about doing the right thing. If you believe in empowering leaders, building capability, and creating positive People experiences while balancing commercial reality, you’ll feel right at home.

What we can offer you

In return for your expertise and commitment, we offer:

  • Competitive salary
  • Bonus scheme
  • Enhanced family benefits
  • Employee discount scheme (Perkbox)
  • Life insurance
  • Discounts on Away Resorts holidays
  • On-park discounts
  • Awards and recognition programmes

Our promise to you

Holiday Heroes come with all sorts of different super-powers and we welcome them all.

We are committed to diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunity. We value the different backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences that allow us to grow and inspire one another. We will never accept discrimination in any form, and we strive to ensure our people experience is as distinctive as our holidays.

Bring your whole self to work, we would not want it any other way.
