37 Hours Per Week, Monday to Thursday 8:30am - 5pm, Friday 8:30am - 4:30pm

Riseholme College are looking for someone who is already immersed in the animal care or land-based education sector, bringing hands-on expertise and a genuine passion for developing the next generation of animal professionals.

You may currently be working as an Animal Technician, Animal Keeper, Instructor, or Animal Care Educator within a land-based college, college farm, zoo, animal rescue centre or commercial animal facility. You’re someone who already plays a hands-on role supporting learners or junior staff, confidently delivering practical animal care sessions, demonstrations, or supervised activities. Perhaps you currently mentor students on placement, run small group tasks, or support the delivery of Level 2 or Level 3 Animal Management programmes. You are used to maintaining high standards of animal welfare, completing routine husbandry, and ensuring safe working practices.

You may also be the kind of person who has begun contributing to lesson planning, assessment, or record-keeping, and you’re now ready to take on more responsibility within a structured teaching team. Whether you’re based in a further education college, a training provider, a kennels/cattery, farm park, zoo, or animal charity, you are passionate about inspiring young people and helping them develop the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in the animal industry.
