We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Dog Grooming Technician to join our Animal Science department. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated individual with a passion for animal care and education to contribute to a high-quality grooming facility and support student learning.

In this role, you will assist in the smooth operation of the dog grooming facilities, ensuring exceptional grooming standards and the wellbeing of both animals and students. Working closely with Lecturers, you will help organise bookings, maintain accurate documentation, and supervise students during grooming sessions. You will also be responsible for carrying out grooming tasks as required.

The successful candidate will hold a recognised Level 2 Dog Grooming qualification (City & Guilds), with a Level 3 qualification and First Aid at Work certification considered advantageous. You will help students build practical skills in areas such as bricklaying, plastering, and general construction techniques. Courses cover core topics such as health and safety, sustainability, construction drawing, and environmental awareness. Learners also gain valuable insights into modern building methods, project planning, and interpreting technical information—preparing them for careers as bricklayers, plasterers, site workers, and more.

We’re looking for someone who holds a relevant degree, has teaching or training experience, and brings at least two years of industry experience. In this exciting role, you will be responsible for supporting, encouraging, and delivering a varied programme of sport and active leisure activities across our student and staff community. Working closely with the Sport Development Manager, you will establish strong partnerships with National Governing Bodies, community sport organisations, and internal departments to offer a wide range of sporting and volunteering opportunities.

Key responsibilities include coordinating participation programmes, accessing funding opportunities, arranging transport and officials for student sport events, and delivering sport-based activity that contributes to student wellbeing and engagement. You will also play a key role in developing mental health and wellbeing initiatives and supporting key college events such as sports awards and festivals.

Apprenticeships are a great opportunity to gain skills knowledge and work in the community at the same time.

In this role you will raise awareness of Youth Social Action (YSA) and increase high quality youth social action opportunities for students within two colleges. You will also raise the positive profile of the colleges through YSA in the local community.
