Are you passionate about sports therapy and developing athletes to reach their full potential? Bishop Burton College is seeking a skilled and motivated Academy Sports Therapist to join its dedicated Commercial Sports Department.

In this role, you will deliver high-quality sports therapy services to our Sports Academy students. Working alongside a team of coaches, strength and conditioning specialists, and the Lead Sports Therapist, you will assess, treat, and prevent injuries while supporting athletes with rehabilitation and performance optimisation.

You will be expected to provide regular pitch-side first aid for training sessions and matches, maintain accurate medical records, implement structured prehab programmes, and contribute to a safe and supportive environment for all academy players. Occasional support across academies may also be required.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced setting and is committed to athlete welfare and performance. You will need a BSc (Hons) in Sports Therapy or Sports Rehabilitation, a pitch-side first aid qualification, and membership of either BASRat or the Society of Sports Therapists. Previous experience in a professional or semi-professional sports setting and knowledge of up-to-date rehabilitation techniques is essential.

Bishop Burton College is looking to recruit a committed and enthusiastic Catering Assistant to support its busy Hospitality department. 

Based at our welcoming and vibrant campus, the successful candidate will be responsible for delivering excellent customer service and ensuring a high standard of food provision for students, staff, and visitors. The role involves assisting with food preparation and basic cooking, serving meals, snacks and beverages (including alcohol), handling both cash and card transactions at the till, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in all catering and dining areas. You will also be expected to report equipment faults, follow food hygiene and health and safety procedures, and actively contribute to team discussions around service improvement and menu ideas. 

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in a food or bar environment, with a good level of numeracy and attention to detail. A Food Hygiene Certificate and GCSE Maths (or equivalent) are essential. You should have a clear understanding of safeguarding, particularly in relation to working with children and young people, and be able to form and maintain appropriate professional boundaries.

Excellent customer service, communication skills, and the ability to work under pressure are key, alongside a cheerful, flexible attitude and a genuine passion for food and hospitality.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Dog Grooming Technician to join our Animal Science department. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated individual with a passion for animal care and education to contribute to a high-quality grooming facility and support student learning.

In this role, you will assist in the smooth operation of the dog grooming facilities, ensuring exceptional grooming standards and the wellbeing of both animals and students. Working closely with Lecturers, you will help organise bookings, maintain accurate documentation, and supervise students during grooming sessions. You will also be responsible for carrying out grooming tasks as required.

The successful candidate will hold a recognised Level 2 Dog Grooming qualification (City & Guilds), with a Level 3 qualification and First Aid at Work certification considered advantageous. A minimum of one year’s experience in a professional grooming environment is essential. You must demonstrate strong communication skills, be capable of working both independently and as part of a team, and have a genuine motivation to support and engage with young people.

In this dynamic and customer-facing role, you will act as the key liaison between apprentices, employers, and internal college teams, ensuring a high-quality onboarding experience and supporting successful apprenticeship starts. You’ll work to generate new opportunities by fostering relationships with employers and promoting vacancies through various channels.

Key responsibilities include managing employer accounts, supporting recruitment and marketing efforts, guiding employers through the vacancy and onboarding process, and providing high levels of information, advice and guidance to applicants and stakeholders. This is an exciting opportunity to support learners on their educational journey by helping them develop strong study skills and independent learning strategies that will enhance their academic and future employability success.

In this role, you will provide one-to-one and small group support to students, covering topics such as time management, revision techniques, organisation, and exam preparation. You will assist learners in developing confidence with academic tasks, including note-taking, understanding assignment briefs, and managing workloads. Additionally, you will play a vital role in promoting the use of digital and physical learning resources and encouraging positive student behaviours in the LRC environment.

You will also liaise with curriculum and support teams to identify students who may benefit from intervention, contribute to workshops and induction activities, and support the use of immersive learning tools.

The role will involve delivering high-quality sports therapy services, including injury assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation. Working in collaboration with the Lead Sports Therapist and the Lead Strength & Conditioning Co-ordinator, you will contribute to a programme that emphasises injury prevention and athlete wellbeing. Pitch-side first aid is a key element of the role, with training and travel provided as necessary.

A particular focus of this position is supporting students at risk of Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport (RED-S), so knowledge or interest in this area is highly desirable. The ability to conduct RED-S screening and provide intervention strategies will be advantageous.

The successful candidate will be expected to work flexibly, including some evenings and weekends, and may occasionally support sports therapy provision beyond the female academies. You will act as a key liaison between the College, employers, and students, ensuring all placements meet statutory requirements and provide a safe, supportive environment for learners to develop essential employability skills.

You will play a vital role in supporting learners before, during and after their placements. This includes preparing documentation, conducting employer visits, maintaining accurate records, and collaborating closely with academic departments to ensure every student is placed in a setting that suits their needs and ambitions.

We are seeking someone with excellent organisational and administrative skills, strong interpersonal communication, and a high level of attention to detail. A background in coordinating placements or working with a diverse range of employers would be an advantage.
