Locality Manager

The Brendoncare Foundation are recruiting for a Locality Manager to manage our community services and clubs for members in the South East region of Hampshire.

We have hundreds of members and volunteers across Hampshire. In the South East, our community clubs are largely based out of our Community Hub in Gosport, with a few others operating in Fareham.

This role is contractually based at The Anchorage, Gosport PO12 1LZ, but has flexibility to work from home as needed, along with an expectation of travel to any other club locations as needed to carry out the duties of the role. This includes supporting members and volunteers to have positive and safe experiences in our clubs, managing related budgets and carrying out health and safety checks in accordance with our procedures, and supporting our volunteers to run trips and events for our members.

You will also be required to travel to our Central Office location in Winchester from time to time for meetings and training.

Hours can be flexible around your personal commitments. On occasion, there may be a need for additional time spent in your role if there are any unexpected incidents, for which you will receive TOIL, with the agreement of your line manager.

What will I be doing?

  • Leading, empowering and motivating our volunteers who support our clubs in the South East Hampshire locality to confidently take a lead on managing and making decisions related to their clubs.
  • Taking an active role in promoting our clubs and community support services, and always looking out for opportunities to recruit new members and volunteers.
  • Liaising with our Facilities Team, or third-party contractors, to manage and maintain the Gosport Centre and carrying out all necessary health and safety checks to ensure safety for all users of the facility.
  • Promoting partnerships with social prescribers, local health services and other community support groups for the benefit of current and prospective members, with a particular focus on helping individuals in areas of deprivation or need.
  • Managing bookings for the Gosport Centre and liaising with our Finance Team in relation to budgets and expenses.
  • Monitoring, reporting and acting on key performance indicators, including providing monthly club attendance counts, and proactively liaising with our Central Administrative team as needed.
  • Being an active role model to your colleagues and an advocate of the Brendoncare values at all times.
