The Role:

The BA will be responsible for identifying, mapping, documenting, and assessing both operational and business processes within our organisation. This role requires a deep understanding of business operations, strong analytical skills, being able to assess impacts on employee roles, and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

The Business Analyst will play a crucial role in driving process improvements and ensuring alignment between business objectives and operational activities. Additionally, the BA will be responsible for providing business-facing documentation for employee training purposes.

This position requires extensive experience in transformational change and new systems implementation, a strong grasp of commercial and operational principles. The BA must exhibit exceptional organisational and analytical skills, demonstrate clear thinking, and effectively stakeholders through business change.

 

Key Responsibilities:

The Business Analyst must possess excellent organisational, analytical, communication and decision-making skills. They should be adept at managing multiple priorities and working under pressure. A commitment to continuous improvement and organisational productivity is essential for success in this role.

  • Analyse existing business processes to identify inefficiencies, areas for improvement, and opportunities for automation.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across various departments to understand business requirements and translate them into actionable insights.
  • Conduct workshops and interviews with key stakeholders to gather requirements and elicit business needs.
  • Document current state and future state processes using process mapping techniques such as BPMN or flowcharts.
  • Analyse data to identify trends, patterns, and insights that can inform decision-making and drive process improvements.
  • Develop business requirements documents (BRDs), functional specifications, and other documentation to support project initiatives.
  • Work closely with IT teams to ensure that proposed solutions align with business objectives and technical capabilities.
  • Create training materials and user guides to facilitate the adoption of new processes and technologies.
  • Provide ongoing support and guidance to business users during the implementation of process changes.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented solutions, making recommendations for further improvements as needed.

Knowledge & Experience Required:

  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in a similar industry or domain.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organise, analyse, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage change
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Solid understanding of business process modelling techniques and tools.
  • Experience with process improvement methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma is desirable.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Visio, and other business analysis tools.

 

Qualifications & Training:

  • Industry recognised Business Analyst certification e.g. Six Sigma / CBAP / Agile/ IIBA or equivalent
