Development Administrator
OVERALL PURPOSE
To provide comprehensive administrative support to the Admissions and Development teams, contributing to the smooth and efficient day-to-day running of both departments. The role will support the management of office systems, departmental records, databases, communications and events, while providing a professional and helpful point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide day-to-day administrative support to members of the Admissions and Development teams.
- Answer telephone calls and respond to emails in a professional and timely manner.
- Maintain accurate and well-organised departmental records and documentation.
- Undertake general administrative tasks as required to support the effective running of the departments.
- Record and upload enquiries, contact details and other relevant information to the appropriate databases.
- Maintain and update databases, ensuring information is accurate, complete and up to date.
- Carry out regular database cleansing and data checks.
- Upload images, information and other relevant content to the website as required.
- Liaise with external companies and other organisations.
- Communicate with alumni and other members of the wider school community in a professional and helpful manner.
- Assist with event planning, organisation and coordination, including maintaining relevant records and information.
KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE
- Previous work experience in an office, school, or voluntary role.
- Professional, friendly and approachable manner.
- Good written communication skills.
- Experience of working with databases and websites.
- Good organisational and time management skills
- IT literacy – Word, Excel, Outlook, and willingness to learn new systems.
- Accuracy and attention to detail – essential for record-keeping, lists, and document preparation.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Trustworthy and professional, especially handling confidential information.
- A flexible and proactive approach to work.
